Càrniques Illas Juli revolutionizes the food of the future at Alimentaria 2026 with innovative and sustainable solutions
With more than 60 years of experience, the company combines family tradition, technological innovation and sustainability to lead the meat sector in Spain and Europe.
The family-owned company Càrniques Illas Juli, a benchmark in meat export and ultra-freezing, will present its latest innovations at Alimentaria 2026, designed to transform modern food.
With over 60 years of experience, Illas Juli combines the spirit of a family business with technological leadership and market trends, offering solutions adapted to both the retail and foodservice channels across the EU and the United Kingdom.
Innovation for new consumption habits
At Alimentaria 2026 we will present new products designed to respond to current consumption habits:
- Allergen-free, gluten-free ranges with no added animal protein, designed for safer and healthier nutrition.
- Products ideal for AirFryer, under the Foodies in the Air brand, making everyday cooking easier at home and in modern foodservice.
- Ready to Roast solutions that simplify work in professional and domestic kitchens, reducing time, costs and food waste.
Thanks to IQF technology (Individual Quick Freezing), we guarantee maximum quality, freshness and safety, optimizing preservation while bringing efficiency and sustainability to the entire supply chain.
Commitment to food safety and accessibility
We work under the IDDSI framework (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative), developing products adapted to the needs of institutional buyers, nursing home operators, collective catering companies and foodservice distributors, contributing to safe and accessible nutrition for everyone.
International certifications that guarantee quality
Illas Juli is a benchmark in high-quality ultra-frozen meat, supported by international certifications such as BRC (British Retail Consortium), GIFS (Global Food Safety Initiative), SAE (Specific Self-Control System for Export), digital traceability systems and a solid track record in international trade.
Additionally, we contribute to the prevention of occupational risks through our formats, packaging and IQF ultra-frozen products, which facilitate handling and reduce risks in professional environments (food safety risks such as cross-contamination and organizational risks such as lack of traceability, insufficient staff training or improper storage).
Digitalization and efficiency across the value chain
We are connected via EDI and VOXEL for order transmission and distribution management, and we work administratively with trusted international systems such as SAP, which allows us to centralize and manage operations through a single integrated platform. These implementations within the administration department provide greater security, efficiency and reliability.
Brands and product ranges adapted to each consumer
At Alimentaria we will present all our ranges and brands, designed to cover different channels and consumer profiles:
Meat cuts and prepared products (pork cheeks, pork tenderloin, entrecôte, meatballs, burgers, skewers, etc.), adapted to the needs of each channel with specific formats, recipes and IQF technology.
Selection of premium products without tenderization or with minimal tenderization (lagarto, secreto, sausages, beef tenderloin, churrasco, stew cubes, striploin…). Portion-controlled products with weight control, IQF and/or vacuum packaging and triple shelf life (18 months frozen, 6 days thawed and packaged, and 24 hours thawed and unpackaged).
Recipes ready to roast and serve, developed by chefs without the need to incorporate them into staff (ribs, pork belly, roast beef, butterfly turkey breast…). Tenderness, flavor and cost savings guaranteed.
Innovative AirFryer line, raw or pre-fried products for both retail and distributors (barbecue ribs, meatballs, marinated pork strips, pork cubes…).
Growth and future vision
Over the last 15 years we have achieved sustained annual growth above 7% (CAGR), closing 2025 with revenues exceeding €41 million. Between our two production plants (one in Barcelona and one in Girona) we exceed 10 million kilos annually.
Investment in R&D and sustainability
One of the company’s main policies is investment in R&D and sustainability, allocating €4 million in the last five years to improve production processes, distribution systems and energy efficiency.
One of the actions related to sustainability improvements has been the complete elimination of liquid nitrogen in our production, in collaboration with GasN2. This significantly reduces CO₂ emissions and the logistics required for liquid nitrogen supply, optimizing operations and eliminating environmental impact.
The R&D department has also grown with the goal of delivering products adapted to market demand, resulting in clients proud to offer products that make a difference.
Industry 4.0
With the integration of smart digital technologies in manufacturing and production processes, and seeking greater automation, flexibility, productivity and real-time decision-making, Illas Juli continues investing in technology, sustainability and new product ranges to consolidate its position in national and international markets.
Our goal: to be the trusted partner for the retail, foodservice and distribution sectors, providing added value and tailored solutions for each client.
At Alimentaria 2026 we reaffirm our commitment: to offer solutions that make food safer, more sustainable and accessible for everyone. We invite professionals and strategic partners to discover how together we can build the future of the sector.
